Trail Reports from Coburn Summit Riders

February 9, 2012
Well, not much as changed since last week...the trails are still looking great. We've been fortunate to have cold weather and the snow is holding up well. There is a possibility of something on Saturday and that will just add to the great riding we already have. It's the same story, roads are great, woods are thin but decent. You still need to be cautious of rocks and stumps... but all the reports are positive for the snow we have. All the area clubs are grooming steady to keep things flat. Just a reminder..STAY OFF PLOWED ROADS!!! The lower Enchanted Road has been getting traffic and the landowner has contacted us about it. Please be respectful of landowners.

ITS 87 is groomed and the riding is great. There is still a logging crew just north of the Forks. Go easy on the plowed section.

ITS 89 is groomed and riding is great. There's still some thin spots just off the Shutdown loop but overall it's excellent.

ITS 86 is groomed and also in great condition. It thins out by the river but is passable and is awesome ride.

Lake Parlin Connector is groomed and in great shape. The west side of 201 is has some sticks showing.

Coburn Connector is flat and fast. It's a little bony at the top of the north shoulder but other than that is awesome.

Mystery Connector is groomed and riding is great.

**The groomer went to the top of Coburn last night. It's bladed a in good shape from the halfway point to the summit. It was groomed from the base to the halfway point tonight. Enjoy the view!!**

We recieved another 3-4 inches of snow yesterday and the trails are looking great. All groomers went out last night and will go out again before the weekend. Although there still are some rocks here and there, overall riding is excellent. Traffic is picking up on the trails so be cautious, stay right, and watch for other sleds.

ITS 87 is g...reat shape on all road sections, but is still thin behind Berrys store. There is a plowed section with logging in progess south of the powerlines. The powerlines still need a little more snow but overall is good.

ITS 89 is groomed and riding is great all the way to Grand Falls.

ITS 86 is good on roads and thin out of the Forks along the river but still good riding.

Lake Parlin Connector is groomed and riding is good. The section on the west side of 201 has some thin spots but is still good riding.

Coburn Connector is groomed and in great shape.

The trails are the best they've been all season...get out and RIDE!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

January 26, 2012
The recent rain we had took some of our snow but left us with something to work with. With the cold temperatures that followed, it has given us a good base. We're expecting 4-8 inches of wet snow tonight and all day tommorow. All of our groomers will be out Friday night setting the trails up for the weekend. Our conditions are still like early season, so... please be aware of rock and stumps in the wooded sections.

ITS 87 is good shape on all road sections, but is still thin behind Berrys store and the last mile before 88. There is a plowed section with logging in progess south of the powerlines. With the new snow, conditions should improve dramatically.

ITS 89 is good all the way to Grand Falls with a thin section just south of the shutdown loop. Riders that went to Eustis yesterday said it was good going.

ITS 86 is good on roads and thin out of the Forks along the river but still passable Again, it will be groomed tommorow night and should improve.

Lake Parlin Connector is in good shape and will be rerouted for the race on Saturday. It will be signed all the way. The woods section between 201 and the Spencer Rd is still thin so watch for rocks. There will be alot of traffic so take it easy on the trails.

Coburn Connector is also in decent shape up high and thins out at lower elevations. There has been some windblown sections so be aware.

We'll be updating the report after the storm to let evryone know what we've got.

ITS 87 is groomed from the Demo rd to the Capital Rd. With the exception of the woods section near the Demo rd, the trail is in great shape. The Lake Parlin Connector is also groomed to 89.
